Radio 254 was the first radio station to ever play 100% Kenyan music. The station is available via several different options. Considering the market that we exist in and the large number of people still living without smartphones. These initiatives have contributed to making Radio 254, The number 1 online radio station in Kenya. Since 2020, The station has had over 30 million listeners tune in to the station.

Radio 254 opened its first Radio studio in April 2021 which allowed to station to start airing live shows and interviews which began the station’s mix of live and playlist programming. Radio 254 would have live shows from 6 am to 10 pm and then have a playlist air from 10 pm to 6 am. The goal was to ensure that whatever time you tuned in to Radio 254, you would get to experience the finest Kenyan music and content. After over two years of live shows, in 2023 we decided to have a 24-Hour Marathon to showcase what Radio 254 is all about which is 24/7 Kenyan music. So, from midnight to midnight we curated all of the radio shows on Radio 254 including the Saturday and Sunday shows into 3-hour shows back to back for 24 hours. The 24-Hour Marathon was live on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, 254.radio & Twitch. In total over 289,000 people watched the 24-Hour Marathon and got to experience what we do every day on Radio 254 which is to promote and showcase Kenyan music to the world via the internet. We realize that so many people still don’t know about us and what we do so we have to keep putting ourselves out there and telling the millions that don’t know about us who we are.
