After four years of operation, we as Radio 254 (also known as 254 radio) are excited to announce the launch of RADIO TV 254 which is a registered trademark and online TV station. Initially piloted in January 2024. RADIO TV 254 is a 24 hour live TV station available on Radio 254’s website www.254.radio The idea of RADIO TV 254 came about in November 2023 when after three years in operations, Radio 254’s realized that despite over 2000 videos on its YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@RadioTV254 the station was still unable to monetize any of the content on its YouTube channel despite not all content on the channel containing copyrighted material. Realizing that it would not be possible to monetize its content on YouTube, Radio 254’s leadership then began looking at ways in which the stations content could be monetized outside of YouTube while allowing for the stations live shows to be aired LIVE on the platforms website and not social media. After exploring the possible options available, RADIO 254 decided to begin building and piloting RADIO TV 254 which is an online TV station that like RADIO 254 plays 100% Kenyan music and content with the difference being that RADIO TV 254 plays 100% Kenyan music videos and DJ mixes as well as airing of RADIO 254 live shows in video format. The idea of RADIO TV 254 is that instead of watching or tuning into RADIO 254 on its website, social media pages or mobile application, users can tune in to RADIO TV 254 to watch Kenyan content, Kenyan music videos and LIVE SHOWS on Radio 254’s programming.
