WANTAM = 20 VS 1

Imagine if all the people who have declared interest in running for president in 2027 put their own interests aside and focused on putting the interests of Kenya and Kenyans first? So far, several people have declared interest in running for president, and as 2027 gets closer, more and more people declare interest. So far, some names that have shown interest are Boniface Mwangi, David Maraga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Jimmy Wanjigi, Fred Matiangi, Reuben Kigame, and Peter Salasya, to name just a few.

The question we would like to ask Kenyans and those who are declaring interest is whether the opposition would be willing to come together as one United Opposition, similar to the 2002 Rainbow coalition, to put together a united effort to unseat William Ruto. In 2002, all members of the opposition came together as a coalition dubbed the Rainbow coalition and challenged both KANU and President Moi’s choice of successor, Uhuru Kenyatta.

As currently structured, the opposition does not stand a chance against William Ruto. They are divided and all seeking to serve their own interests. But a United Opposition is the only way to make the WANTAM dream a reality. With only a few months to 2027, the suggestion this author is offering is the coming together of all opposition candidates under a coalition with the understanding that a united opposition is the only way to beat William Ruto.

They say that if you want to go far, you don’t go alone. A fractured opposition would make William Ruto’s re-election a walk in the park, but a truly united opposition where everyone had come together against him would give him sleepless nights. He wouldn’t know where to begin or steal votes from. United, Kenyans can defeat him and remove him from power, but if everyone is after their own interests and going it alone, then an opposition candidate would be lucky to get 1 million votes. Let’s stop smoking weed, come together, and offer Kenyans a united opposition. You would have to be high to think that challenging William Ruto will be easy. It will require strategy and the coming together of people with different opinions. We also need the Gen Z’s who came to the streets to register and vote. They will change Kenya.

Bad Habits Kenyan Landlords Exhibit

Does anyone know a Kenyan landlord who returns their tenants deposits when they leave? I would like to meet that Kenyan landlord if they exist. Landlords aren’t always the nicest people, but Kenyan landlords are the worst, followed by the caretakers responsible for collecting rent and managing the property on behalf of the landlord. As I write this article, I write from the perspective of someone who has dealt with […]
